Two Salina teens have been arrested on charges of burglary and theft in connection with a burglary of a north Salina home on Monday.

19-year-old Joseph Mixon and 18-year-old Jordan Cherry were arrested in a room at the Starlight Motel at 211 E. Pacific Tuesday while police were trying to serve a warrant on Mixon.

Mixon broke out a back window to the motel room to try to get away, but was apprehended by an officer standing outside the motel.

During the arrest items taken in a burglary at 800 N. 2nd were found in the motel room.

All the items taken in the burglary were recovered along with two .22 caliber rifles.

Both teens were arrested on requested charges of burglary and theft, and obstruction. Mixon will also face felony firearms charges and a damage to property charge for breaking out the motel room window.
