Construction Work At Ohio And Crawford Beginning Fourth Phase

The contractor for the City of Salina will begin construction on Phase 4 of the Ohio Street and Crawford Street intersection improvements project on Tuesday, April 10th. Phase 4 is the northeast corner of the intersection.

The work zone will include the area from Prescott Avenue on Ohio to Lefran Street on Crawford. Traffic on Crawford will be switched from its current configuration to the south side. The traffic on Ohio will not change.

Motorists will be unable to execute left turns at the intersection throughout the duration of the project, as two-way traffic will be reduced to two lanes in all directions. Signage will be posted clearly marking traffic restrictions, and access to properties will be maintained at all times.

Each phase is expected to last approximately two weeks, with an anticipated May 6, 2012, full completion date. Traffic delays are to be expected and motorists should consider alternate routes.
