UPDATE: KSU-Salina Student Pilot Forced To Make Emergency Landing After Running Out Of Fuel

A KSU-Salina student pilot had to perform an emergency landing in a wheat field seven miles North of Alta Vista, Kan., during a solo flight Tuesday.

The student pilot, Kara Godsil, reportedly miscalculated the amount of fuel in the aircraft. Godsil was not injured and the aircraft does not appear to be seriously damaged according to university officials.

The plane is planned to be flown back to Salina on Wednesday, April 11.
