Local 782 & Lodge 68 are hosting the 2nd Annual BBQ Competition to see which career, volunteer, or retired firefighter, EMS, or Law Enforcement pit paster can cook the best BBQ in the state of Kansas.

Entry fee will be $65 and include the following:

• Roughly a 20×30 campsite
• 2 free bags of ice

Public pork dinner:

• Pork butts will be provided to each team. Once cooked and pulled by the teams, the meat will be turned over to event organizers for the sale to the public. Money raised from the public pork dinner will  benefit the North Central Kansas Chapter of the Red Cross.

Timeline:

• You can start arriving by 11am Friday April 13th, 2012

Overall Awards

• Grand Champion – Trophy
• Reserve Grand Champion – Trophy
• Reserve Runner-up – Trophy
• Categories (pork butts, chicken, brisket, pork ribs)
• First through third place – Trophies
