UPDATE: Two Russell women were injured after an accident on I-135 involving an oversize load semi and a SUV around 3PM Monday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the driver of the SUV attempted to make a left turn towards the median from the right lane, in front of a semi that was in the passing lane. The SUV was struck and then rolled into the median about 200 yards south of the Crawford St. exit.

The driver, 60-year-old Wanda Dimitt , and a passenger, 83-year-old Ella Bushell, were transported to Salina Regional. Bushell was later life-flighted to a Wichita hospital.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
