Further testing is being conducted to determine the cause of death of an 18-month-old Salina girl found unresponsive last Monday afternoon.

Lt. Scott Siemsen with the Salina Police Department says an active investigation continues in the death of Bre’Elle Jefferson.

She was taken to Salina Regional Health Center about 3:45 Monday afternoon and then transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where she died Tuesdsay evening.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday April 12th.
