Officials at Fort Riley say more than 50 employers turned out for the fifth annual “Hiring Heroes” job fair at the northeast Kansas Army post.
Tuesday’s fair was aimed at wounded and injured soldiers as well as those preparing to leave the military. Their spouses were also invited to take part.
WIBW-TV reports reports that soldiers from the Warrior Transition Battalion had a chance to meet potential employers and get on-the-spot interviews. The battalion helps soldiers recovering from injuries or illness to return to their units or make the transition to civilian life.
Employers at the job fair included private-sector companies along with the Department of Defense and other federal, state and local agencies.
