A Few Severe Storms This Evening

A cold front will move slowly southward across the Kansas region this afternoon and tonight. The front will interact with increasing moisture, resulting in increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms, particularly across southern and southeast Kansas. A few of the storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds.

Today: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 14 to 18 mph becoming north northwest. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. North wind between 11 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
