Three people who broke into a car in northwest Salina early Wednesday morning, got nothing but a trip to jail.

Just after midnight a 62-year-old man who lives in the 100 block of N. Chicago heard noises outside and saw a couple of people in his car.

He yelled at them and they took off running, and he called police.

The suspects had left a Chevy Blazer parked in the middle of the street, and two females were found nearby a short time later.

Arrested on charges of vehicle burglary and attempted theft, were 18-year-old Kelsey Ballentine, 18-year-old Emily McDaneld, and 22-year-old Darin Gordon.

Ballentine and McDaneld were taken into custody at the scene of the burglary, and Gordon was arrested later at his home in east Salina.

Ballentine bonded out of jail early Wednesday.
