Troy Love II was charged with first-degree murder and child abuse, Tuesday.

The next court appearance for Love was scheduled for May 7.

The Saline County Attorneys office had issued warrants for Love on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse.

18-month-old Bre’Elle Jefferson was taken to the hospital on the afternoon of April 9th when she had been found unresponsive.

She died the evening of April 10th at a Wichita hospital. Officials say here injuries were consistent with child abuse.

The warrants for Love’s arrest were issued on April 19th.
