A safe was taken in a residential burglary Thursday afternoon.

Michael Stonebraker tells police that someone broke into his home in the 800 block of N. 11th, through a window between 2 and 5pm.

A 2×2 gray safe was stolen. In the safe was $4,300 in cash a Ruger Redhawk .44 handgun with scope, and various items of paper work.

Loss and damage placed at $5,178.
