Paul B. Murray

June 27, 1929 – May 7, 2012

Paul B. Murray, age 82, died Saturday, May 7, 2012, at Kaye Pogue Hospice in Salina. Mr. Murray was born June 27, 1929, in Jefferson, Pa., to Bun and Mary (Dodds) Murray. Paul served as a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1945 until his retirement in 1969. He then worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service for many years until his retirement.He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta M. Murray, in 2006, and one grandson, Tony, in 2008. He is survived by his children, Michael P. Murray and wife Cheryl, of Salina, David E. Murray, of Salina, Pamela M. Johnson and husband Gary, of Salina, and Mary K. Haines and husband Charles, of Salina; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, May 9, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St. Salina. A vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

The funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud St., Salina, with Father Kerry Ninemire as celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. Memorials are suggested to Kaye Pogue Hospice Center in Salina.

Elsie M. “Peg” King
(June 3, 1927 – May 7, 2012)

Elsie M. “Peg” King, 85, Minneapolis, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center, Salina. She was born June 3, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York.

Peg and Russell King were united in marriage on October 21, 1955. They were co-owners and operators of Rid A Pest for many years. Peg was a member of the Community Bible Church where she and Russ were active in the AWANA program. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Peg was preceded in death by her husband Russ on March 15, 2009.

Survivors include her son Ralph Rowson of Minneapolis; two grandsons, Russell Rowson of Salina and Charles Rowson of Minneapolis; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. Monday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Cremation will follow the visitation and inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Bible Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
