Salina firefighters responded to reports of smoke at a west Salina home Monday afternoon.

Residents home at the time called 911 to alert authorities after they smelled smoke near the west side of 926 Sheridan.

Roger Williams, Salina Fire Department, said crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. He said it appeared the flames sparked from an electrical short near the meter box.
