Sammy Lee Brittendall Jr.
November 21, 1959 – May 6, 2012
Sammy Lee Brittendall Jr., 52, of Salina, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was born Nov. 21, 1959, in Salina and was a lifetime Salina resident. For many years, he worked for the DeWitt Drywall Co. and later worked for the City of Salina Health Department. He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Brittendall; a sister, Julie Furbeck; and two brothers, William Milas Brittendall and Barry Lee Brittendall.Survivors include his father, Sam Brittendall Sr., of Salina; a daughter, Krista McClain, of Wichita; a brother, Blake Brittendall, of Salina; and nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 611 Willis, Salina, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sammy Lee Brittendall Jr. Memorial Fund. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Sherry Lynn Wallace
April 3, 1956 – May 11, 2012
Sherry Lynn Wallace, 56, of Salina, died Friday, May 11, 2012. She was born April 3, 1956, in Hawthorne, Nev., to Earl and Sylvia (Frisch) Sanders. She married Thomas Wallace on April 25, 1987. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Sanders.Sherry graduated from Chapman High in 1974 and Beloit Vocational School in 1975. She was a member of Emmanuel Foursquare Church, Salina, for more than 20 years. She loved her family, cooking and gardening. Sherry was a devoted mother and wife.She is survived by her husband, Thomas, of the home; children, Joel and Shannon, both of the home, and Sarah, of Germantown, Md.; mother, Sylvia Sanders, of Abilene; siblings, Tammie LaRoche and husband Tom, of North Glenn, Colo., Kim Gore and Christy Sanders, both of Abilene, and Corey Sanders, of Salina; and numerous nieces and nephews.There will be a visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 14, at Ryan Mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Emmanuel Foursquare Church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Emmanuel Foursquare Love Fund, and may be left at or sent in care of the mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.

Ron W. Schmutz
October 13, 1960 – May 10, 2012
Ron W. Schmutz, 51, of Salina, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born Oct. 13, 1960, in Junction City, the son of Leland and Luella (Fehlman) Schmutz.He is survived by his wife, Jan, of the home; two sons, Stetson and Justin, both of Salina; mother, Luella Schmutz, of Wakefield; one brother, Gary Schmutz and wife Jill, of Wakefield; aunt, Donna Schmutz, of Junction City; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lonnie and Martha McCarty, of Ellinwood; brother-in-laws, Michael McCarty and wife Robin, of Great Bend, and Kevin McCarty and wife Michelle, of Shallowater, Texas; and niece and nephew, Hanna and Heath McCarty, of Shallowater.Visitation with the family receiving friends, will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 14, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, at First Covenant Church, 2526 E. Magnolia Road, Salina. Burial will be in Alida-Zion Evangelical Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ron Schmutz Children’s College Education Fund, and left in care of the mortuary.
