The Sacred Heart Knights (17-6) nabbed a six seed in this years 3A State Baseball Tournament in Manhattan and will play the number three seed Rock Creek (21-2). First pitch is 6:30 pm Friday at Tointon Family Stadium which is on the campus of Kansas State University.

The Knights qualified after what head coach Brad Dix said was the best three game stretch of defense this season.  The Knights outscored their opponents in their Regional 10-1, including two shutouts of Southeast of Saline and Marion in the Regional Championship.  Hillsboro was the only team to score a run on the Knights.

If the Knights win they will play against the winner of the number two seed TMP (22-1) and number seven seed Wellsville (17-6) in the semifinals of the tournament the next day May 26 at 12:30 p.m.

The other two match-ups in the State Tournament feature the number one seed Humboldt (23-0) taking on the eighth seed Wichita Independent (15-8) and number four seed Frontenac (21-2) playing fifth seed Silver Lake (17-6).

The championship portion of the bracket will start at 3 p.m. with the third place and the first place game following at 5:30 p.m.
