Update: One Killed, Two Injured After Accident On I-70 in Lincoln County

One person was killed and two were injured after a rollover accident on I-70 in Lincoln County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, two males and one female from Minerva, Ohio were east bound on I-70 in the construction zone when a tire failure occurred, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle which then rolled, ejecting one passenger.

52-year-old Janine Jo Reed was transported to Salina Regional, but died from her injuries.

27-year-old Adam G. Reed and 50-year-old George S. Reed were transported to Salina Regional Hospital with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately available.

 

UPDATE: Trooper Ben Gardner says the eastbound lanes of I-70 at mile marker 229 in Lincoln County reopened to traffic at 6:11pm. Details on the accident will be available later.

An injury accident shutdown eastbound lanes of I-70 late Saturday afternoon.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner, The accident occurred at mile marker 229 in Lincoln County just before 5pm.

No other information is available as of early Saturday evening.

The Kansas Highway Patrol should have more information released later Saturday night.
