A 41-year-old man died Saturday after an apparent drowning at Kanopolis Lake.

The body of John Freeman III, of Lyons, was found floating in the Venango Beach area around 12:30 Saturday.

Ellsworth authorities are investigating the death, although it is believed to be an accidental drowning, and is not being considered suspicious.
