Cloudy, Storms Possible Before Noon

Another hot day is in store for the area. An excessive heat warning has been posted for south central and southeast Kansas, generally south of Highway 400, and across northeast Oklahoma. Heat advisories have been posted for parts of central Oklahoma and southwest Missouri. Heat indices will range from near 100 along I-70 to near 110 along the Oklahoma border this afternoon.

  • TODAY: Isolated showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny and hot, with a high near 99. East northeast wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • TONIGHT: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 78. East northeast wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
