Several thousand dollars in various items have been taken from a vacant farmstead in northeast Saline County.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says the owners of the property who are from Tescott, reported Tuesday that a large amount of scrap metal, copper, brass, and stainless steel was removed.

Also taken were antiques ,used auto batteries, and denim clothing.

The stolen property was taken from the empty house, and outbuildings.

Estimated loss is more than $12,500.
