An Abilene man was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon for treatment of possible injuries after the car he was in crashed 2 1/2 miles east of Solomon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 50-year-old George Deaner was westbound on 2500 Avenue at a high rate of speed, when the car went into a south ditch, over corrected and hit the ditch embankment on the north side of the road.

Deaner then attempted to leave the scene. The crash occurred at 5:25pm.
