ARLINGTON, Texas — Elouise Ann Vanderbilt Humbargar succumbed to cancer and complications on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, following a heroic battle with cancer. She was born in Inman, Kan., on June 6, 1936, to two educators, Roland Henry and Elsie Wilma Vanderbilt.

Her parents and her brother, Norman Eugene Vanderbilt, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Humbargar; two daughters, Deborah Dubuc-Schindler and Angie Abbott; her grandsons, Devin (Donna) Dubuc and Cadron Pickett; great-grandchildren, Brandon Salinas-Dubuc and Mackenzie and Dylan Dubuc; and niece and nephew, PaulaVanderbilt and Chris (Colleen) Vanderbilt.

Elouise struggled with dyslexia while growing up. She overcame her disability, eventually earning two master’s degrees. She taught for 25 years, first in the classroom and then as a learning disabilities resource teacher. She attended Bethany and Marymount colleges and Kansas State University.

Elouise was very creative. She sang at weddings and in the church choir, taught piano and clarinet, and gave voice lessons. She could turn 5 yards for a dollar material into dresses and suits. At the end of her life, she expressed that her life had been full of love for her family, teaching and traveling.

Funeral services for Elouise will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Saturday.

Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

CULVER — Brenda Kay Fuller, 49, of Culver, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012. She was born March 30, 1963, in Salina. She was an assembler for OCCK, Salina.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Fuller, and grandparents, Charlie and Emmy Fuller, Lon and Neva Stonebraker, and Walter and Bernice Matt.

Survivors include her parents, Larry and Margaret Fuller, of Culver, and Sharon Quested, of Marquette; two brothers, Larry E. Fuller, of El Dorado, and Jeff Brooks, of Salina; two sisters, Kari Trow, of Salina, and Kim Ballantyne, of Arvada, Colo.; many nieces and nephews; and her family at Sierra House.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Glendale.

The family suggests memorials to OCCK/Sierra House, Salina.
