A 44-year-old Wichita man was jailed Wednesday afternoon, after being stopped for shoplifting, and officers discovered several hundred dollars worth of steak in his car.
Imad Yousseff was stopped about 1:45pm by Salina Police at Schilling Road and I-135 after leaving Wal-Mart with a DVD and foot care products that he did not pay for.
Police checked his car and found several items of bulk food products including 84 pounds of beef tenderloin that he said he had purchased at Sam’s Club. The receipt showed that he bought $175 dollars worth of hamburger instead of $863 dollars of beef tenderloin. Yousseff had requested the tenderloin at the meat counter, but was somehow able to change the bar code that indicated the box had hamburger.
Yousseff was arrested on charges of felony theft.
