SES Freshman Wins Girls Title

The Southeast of Saline cross country teams were in action Thursday at the Clay Center Invitational, and came away with an individual champion. Freshman Allison Stutterheim won first place in the girls race with a time of 16:06.6. The Lady Trojans finished 5th in the team standings, one point behind Riley County.

The SES boys also ran well at Clay Center, finishing 4th in the team standings. Isaac Barnhart was the top finisher for the Trojans in 13th with a time of 18:21.7.

Trojan Head Coach Wade Caselman felt good about the SES runners. “The cross country teams had some wonderful weather to compete in at Clay Center yesterday. They all worked hard this week in practice so we had some tired legs but still had some very good performances. There were several season best times and even a few all time best times on a course that can be challenging.”

Southeast now gets ready to host the Southeast of Saline Invitational which will be held Tuesday, September 18th.
