A Bennington man was injured in a wreck early Wednesday morning on K-18 east of Bennington.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 27 year old Tyler Smith was eastbound about 10 miles east of Bennington just after 7:00am, when for unknown reasons the pickup he was driving went into the westbound lane then into a ditch, down a embankment of a creek and the pickup struck the concrete bridge.

Smith was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of injuries.

The Highway Patrol report says Smith was not wearing a seatbelt.
