Open House October 24th

If you happen to be on Salina Regional Health Center’s Pediatric Unit you might be confused as to where you really are. You may think you are on an exciting voyage across the sea, at a circus, or perhaps lying on a beach enjoying the view.

Thanks to Kansas Wesleyan University student Olga Silverman, who painted the murals as a project for school, and as a way to lend her artistic talent to the community, the Pediatric Unit is now a make believe world where its walls come to life. The Pediatric Unit would like to share these amazing murals with the public and offer a chance to meet the artist at an open house from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 24.

“We really appreciate all the hard work that Olga put into this project,” said Melinda Schmidt, interim director for Women and Children’s Services. “The murals are amazing. It’s fun to watch the kids come out of their rooms to look at the adventures on the walls. And, the staff members are enjoying it as much as the kids.”

The pediatrics unit is located on the second floor of the hospital and is easily accessible using the Central elevators. Refreshments will be served and a scavenger hunt is also planned. Bring the kids! They’ll enjoy it as much as adults.
