Two people were injured in a pedestrian/car accident Thursday evening in Junction City.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 29-year-old Charles Valentine Jr., of Green, Kansas, was searching through his trunk for a jack after stopping to help a motorist, 20-year-old Nicholas Thompson, of Junction City, whose vehicle had sustained a blown tire. Valentine was then struck by a third vehicle driven by Jessica Carter of Addison, Alabama.
Valentine was transported to Geary Community Hospital in Junction City and then moved to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Carter was taken to Geary Community following the accident while Thompson was not injured.
Their conditions were not immediately available.
The accident happened on Sixth Street about one block east of Franklin just before 6 p.m.
