Police in Kansas are on the scene of a standoff in Kansas City following an early morning shooting.

KCTV reports one person was wounded in the shooting that happened about 4 a.m. Sunday, and he later died at an area hospital.

The television station says witnesses told police the suspect in the shooting ran into a home, and police have surrounded that building. The station says police are trying to make contact with the person inside.
