SOUND OFF

1. I must say I am very impressed with all you republicans. I was expecting to hear you all blame Obama for causing Hurricane Sandy. Surely he did something to cause the Hurricane. Maybe his relatives in Africa were cloud seeding or doing a rain dance or something in their united efforts to destroy America. Donald Trump should look into it.

2. All you hear about in Salina lately is shootings and stuff about presidents. But a lady in Walmart stopped and talked to my two year old son while I was in the check out line and handed him a dollar. I just want you to know that it’s going into his savings account for college!!!! Thanks for helping out.

3. This new art project going up…not so great idea. How long before it blows away when storm season comes, I wonder.

4. After seeing how Ron Paul’s campaign went (even with the media blackout), I can see that what the people want is an honest president who is willing to make tough choices. Unfortunately, corporate America is not ready for that. As long as our government puts money and power before people, things will never change.

5. I moved here recently, and noticed that many people have done me favors (give me a ride, or buy me lunch) and I hadn’t known any of them for more than two weeks. Some have been strangers. When I try to repay them or tell them I owe them, they say “don’t worry, just pay it forward and help out someone next time the opportunity presents itself.” And the opportunities have come. Paying it forward has made a difference in my life, and it affects others around you like a drop creates ripples. I want to say thank you, and I’ll keep paying it forward.

6. I cannot believe we spent $300,000 on that sculpture! Somebody should  be going to jail over this. What an embarrassment.
