An accident involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 70 in eastern Geary County Tuesday morning has resulted in traffic being backed up.
Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges said the site of the accident is about 15 miles east of Junction City. “For people traveling east toward Topeka – Kansas City area we have traffic backed up. We have one lane open at this time.”
Berges said one semi-truck contained hazardous materials, but there was no spillage. There were no injuries.
Berges estimated there was a traffic backup of about one and a half miles. Motorists are urged to be patient.
