SOUND OFF
1. Okay, let me get this straight: hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on art we didn’t need, $5 million plus for a water park that sits idle 8 months out of the year, $50,000 for a consultant on the $16 million expo center that the people have already said they don’t want, $3 million for downtown lights that we don’t really need, and yet we have city and county commissioners that are arguing over who should pay for the health department building that we do need. It’s time for the commissioners to pull their heads out.
2. You know every time I drive by that $300,000 monstrosity on South 9th St it makes me wonder how many of the city commissioners fell on their heads when they were young.
3. Quit letting Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly do your homework for you guys. Turn off Fox news, turn off these other radio stations, and understand that this debt ceiling crisis that you’re all claiming president Obama is taking extra Constitutional powers over, was introduced in 2000 and by Republican Mitch McConnell.
4. Happy Holidays!
5. I love all the constitutional geniuses on here that are complaining about tax rates going up, potentially as a result of our president. Hey guys- Congress is the one that can extend those tax cuts. Or, as I would prefer the president and congress don’t go anywhere on it, don’t make any headway, and we just let all the tax cuts expired as they were intended to do initially when they were first passed.
6. Why spend $300,000 or even a $1.00 on downtown? There’s nothing down there. They all close at 5:00 and on Sunday. Uh oh, most people get off at 5:00. Another uh oh..most people are off Sunday. Might be profit for them if they were open.
7. Salina doesn’t need restaurants or national chains, it needs entrepreneurs. And I’m not talking about an entrepreneur that opens another restaurant, I’m talking about real entrepreneurs that create businesses that pay good wages.
