Make A New Year’s Resolution to Quit Smoking!

As 2013 approaches, many people are making resolutions to quit tobacco use. Studies have found that using a tobacco Quitline can more than double a person’s chances of successfully quitting tobacco. Kansas Tobacco Quitline Coaches atwww.ksquit.org or 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669) are ready to help Kansans quit tobacco use. The Quitline is a service provided at no cost to Kansans and enrollment is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week online or by phone. A counselor works with the tobacco user during one-on-one online live chats, e-mails or phone calls to prepare for a quit date, and create a plan to fight cravings and other challenges. Kansas tobacco users who enroll in the online service will also gain membership to a private, online community where they can complete activities, watch videos and join discussions with others in the program. Interactive trackers on the web site measure the money tobacco users save and the progress they make during the quitting process.
