He was a part of the Kansas State Fair for many years. Now the man who played Bardo the Clown and did many things for the fair has died. J.B. Holdren died last night. He was found in his camper where he lived on the fair grounds about 7:30 last night. According to State Fair General Manager Denny Stoecklein, Holdren was 93.
Holdren played Bardo the Clown in the Ringling Brothers Circus and started working at the fair after he finished his service in World War Two. Holdren displayed many crafts at the fair but is best known as the man who painted all of the signage for the Fair Grounds. Holdren was a part of the State Fair for nearly 70 years No service announcement has been made at this time.
