So, we averted the cliff….too bad. What this country needs is a swift kick in the rear. The problem is, there is no one to do it! The voters won’t do it….just look at the last election. The political parties won’t do it…One of them is responsible for all the problems and the other doesn’t have the stones to do it.
This leaves us a country with a dictatorship….not by an individual (we are getting close) but by a political party and an electorate that is uneducated, naive, and gullible.
We averted a cliff but fell headfirst into a maze. A maze where all roads lead to nowhere…there is no exit! We raise taxes and spend more than we take in. We are promised cuts in spending, but they are in the next decade, while all along we continue to build up mass debts. AND WE LOVE IT!!!! We must, because we never do anything to change our behavior. We never get rid of the spenders, or the tax increasers. You say to get rid of them we have to pass a law that limits terms. We already have it. It’s called an election. It’s the only power the people have, but when the electorate becomes so uneducated and unconcerned, we end up with what we have. How dumb can we be? It appears we haven’t got there yet, but we sure are close.
Next comes the debt limit. We will let it rise, which means we need more money, which means more taxes. Are you getting any of this??? By the way, did you see where the Prez (on the 28th of Dec..three days before we go off the cliff) signed an executive order raising wages for the VP and the lawmakers…all this while we are struggling with a fiscal crisis. How dumb can we be? Not to mention the extra 6 million dollars that was added to the first family’s Hawaii vacation because the Prez did an extra round trip to solve the fiscal problem. That is your tax dollars at work.
America, here is the bottom line. Today’s government has no intention of cutting any spending. It only wants to increase spending. It wants all Americans to be dependent on the government for everything, and so does the electorate. How dumb can we be?
In closing take a look South. The country we have an embargo against, for no real reason other than they are communist, has started to do away with government controlled businesses, their economy is growing, small businesses are on the rise, unemployment is below 7 percent. Is it because they are communists? No, it is because they are giving up communist philosophies when it comes to the economy. And Americans want to become the old Cuba. How dumb can we be? How long until “boat people” are coming into Cuba?
