OPINION: Boehner’s Win Signals Major Loss For “Tea Party”

BoehnerBy R D Fry

Although Boehner just barely squeaked by he was re-elected as the House Speakers. This is a major blow for the Liberty movement (whom some like to call the “Tea Party”) because it shows:

1. The Liberty Movement could not muster the 16 votes it would have taken to block his re-election, (Note 1) and /or
2. They were too ignorant to understand the importance of getting Boehner out.

Let us not forget just some of the major sins of Boehner:

1. Unnecessarily caved in on the last debt ceiling negations,
2. Was one of the faces at the behind the Kremlin styled GOP moderate / globalist back stabbing of the conservative grass roots movement at the GOP convention last August,
3. In Peter-isk style denied the “tea party” publicly and nationally,
4. Caved in to the Progressives demand for more taxes and no spending cuts.

With another debt ceiling looming does anyone doubt what Boehner will do?

Today the always weepy eyed Boehner stated; “We are sent here not to be something, but to do something—to do the right thing.” (Note 1) Let me interpret Boehner’s politicaleze:

“We are not sent here to be something (like conservatives that stand on principles), but to do something (like compromise even when we hold the right cards and to pass legislation even if it’s bad) – to do the right thing (but don’t ask me any specifics on what is “the right thing” I am too busy marginalizing the grass roots / Tea Party, and moving the GOP to a shadow organization of the Progressive Demo Party).”

Nine legislators voted against Boehner and three did not vote so only four more votes were needed to send a clear message to the GOP elitist leadership that we conservative traditionalists have had enough of their contempt.
The usual Kremlin tactics were in play by the Boehner operatives who were threatening fellow legislators with a loss of committee positions if they did not vote for Boehner. Recall that Kansas’ Huelskamp, North Carolina’s Jones and Michigan’s Amash et. al., were recently removed from key committee positions because they voted for their constituents (and the Constitution) by voting no on the 2012 and 2013 NDAA and against spending rather than follow the elitist party line Boehner has come to symbolize.
Even worse three of four Kansas Congresspersons apparently voted for Boehner; Mike Pompeo, Kevin Yoder and Lynn Jenkins. Some of them are closet elitist and some simply lack the testicular mass and intestinal fortitude to “do the right thing”.

Yes the “Tea Party” of Kansas not only failed to stand up for traditional values in demanding the Kansas delegation vote against Boehner but they, like Pompeo, Yoder and Jenkins, left a good and honorable man, Tim Huelskamp, swinging in the wind. (If there was some organized effort in Kansas on this I am certainly unaware of it.)

Perhaps the grass roots will be able to win back some of their credibility at least in Kansas by their statewide campaign against fluoride. As you know Article 1 § 9.5 of the Constitution says “Our right to be free of fluoride shall not be infringed.”

In Memory of Liberty (and substance)
