Want to learn how healthy lifestyles can prevent cancer?

salina regional health centerNot all cancers are avoidable, but research shows that up to 60 percent of cancer related deaths are directly linked to lifestyle choices such as an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise.

Avoiding smoking and limiting alcohol are well known ways to limit cancer risk, but what you eat, or don’t eat, can have an equally powerful impact on your health.

Jeanne Byquist, a registered and licensed dietitian on staff at the Tammy Walker Cancer Center, will present a discussion entitled “Physical Activity and Nutrition – The Power of Prevention” on January 10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Tammy Walker Cancer
Conference Room, 511 S. Santa Fe, Salina.

The program is free and open to anyone. After a 20 to 30 minute formal presentation the floor will be opened for an informal question and answer session allowing attendees the opportunity to ask any questions they might have.

Refreshments will be served. For more information, please call (785) 452-4849.
