mil30114BROOKVILLE — Rylee Cheyenne Miller was born Oct. 16, 1991, to Bruce and Jill Miller in Abilene, Kan. She departed to be with the Lord on Jan. 14, 2013, in Alva, Okla. where she was attending college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

She was a graduate of Ell-Saline High School in 2010, where she was active in softball and cheerleading.

Rylee was a lover of animals, especially horses, cattle and dogs. She grew up ranching with her parents and loved competing in ranch rodeos and ranch horse competitions. She later was involved in college rodeos, first at Fort Hays State University and later at Northwestern University.

She loved being a part of the rodeo family and enjoyed being involved with the breeding and the handling of bucking horses and bulls with her boyfriend, James Hajek, and his family in Oklahoma.

Rylee is survived by her mother and father; brother, Chance; grandmother, Karen Watt, of Springfield, Mo.; grandfather, Roger Watt and Lisa, of Abilene, and grandparents, Bruce and Lola Miller, of Detroit, Kan.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and, of course, her dog, Thistle, and horse, Chigger.

She will be remembered by everyone who loved her by her beautiful blue eyes, her captivating smile, her quick wit and her infectious personality. She will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Abilene. Burial will follow in Prairiedale Cemetery, Talmage. Visitation will be private.

Memorials are suggested to the Rylee Miller Scholarship Fund, in care of Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

BENNINGTON — Jayne Tinkler, 54, of Bennington, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born June 21, 1958, in Concordia, Kan., to Lowell and LeEtta (Carlson) Palmquist.

She began her schooling at Sibley School, north of Concordia. She then attended Washington Grade School in Concordia and graduated from Concordia High School in 1976. After completion of high school, she began work at Cloud County Bank in Concordia before moving to Casper, Wyo., where she then worked at Wyoming National Bank. She was married to Lyle Tinkler on Dec. 30, 1981, in Casper. In 1983, she moved to Bennington, Kan., and began work at First Bank Kansas in Salina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and LeEtta (Carlson) Palmquist.

Survivors include her husband, Lyle; daughter, Carly Tinkler; son, Jayce Tinkler; two sisters, Brenda McComas and husband Steve, of Leawood, Kan., and Patty Pfister and husband Phil, of Greer, S.C.; five nephews; and three nieces.

Visitation, with family present, will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in Bennington Cemetery, Bennington, Kan.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the Bennington EMS and Fire Department.

Betty Pauline Mizner, 80, of Salina, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. She was born March 3, 1932, in Clayton, N.M., to John Warren and Lucy Ann Jiles. They divorced when she was 3, and later her mother married J.P. Morgan, and one daughter, Doris Joan, was born of that union. Doris passed away in 2004.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul Crawford (1967); her second husband of over 30 years, Francis (Sonny) Mizner; and one son, Ronald Crawford.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Crawford and wife Lynette, of Salina, and Gary Crawford and wife Laurie, of Ogden, UT; daughter-in-law, Kathy Crawford, of Olathe; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mizner had managed restaurants in Salina and Minneapolis and helped manage Ottawa County State Lake Concession. She worked for Salina Youth Care Association and was a foster parent.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Kan. There will be a visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday, with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Harden Hospice and may be sent to or left at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.

vet_ffffffHarold “Butch” Cooley, 63, of Salina, passed away Saturday, January 12th, at Hospice of Salina.
Harold was born on November 25, 1949.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a former Merchant Marine.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
