Motorist Assist Call Leads To Arrest Of Nebraska Man For Stealing Car

Adam BortleA Nebraska man in the Saline County jail, after Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered he had stolen a car.

About 12:45am Tuesday morning, deputies were sent to the area of milepost 80 southbound on I-135 to the report of a motorist assist.

They found 24-year-old Adam Bortle of Neligh, Nebraska walking southbound along the highway.

Deputies became suspicious after Bortle declined assistance and said he would continue to walk.

A check of the license plate found the 2002 Pontiac Gran Prix had been stolen from Hebron, Nebraska.

Bortle is in the Saline County jail on possession of stolen property, and will likely face charges in Nebraska.
