Betty Jean Pierce, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, January 23rd, at her residence.
She is survived by two children, Barb Pierce of Salina, Kansas and Gary Pierce of Big Spring, Texas.
She is also survived by one granddog, Vinny, of Salina.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

Rosalind Tillberg, 96, of Salina, passed away January 22, 2013. She was born to Edward H. and Alfreda (Sandquist) Johnson on January 19, 1917 in the New Gottland Community in McPerson, Co., KS.
She graduated from Lindsborg High School in May 1934. Rosalind Johnson and Lawrence Tillberg were married August 7, 1938, in New Gottland Lutheran Church. They farmed seven miles west of Salina their entire married life. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Salina, serving on the altar committee and was an active member of WELCA and Phoebe group as well as Northwest Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of the Hedville Ladies Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Tillberg; her parents, Edward H. and Alfreda Johnson; three brothers, Milbert, Arvid and Roy Johnson; and two infant sisters, Mildred and Carolin.
Survivors include five sons, Arnold (Ann) Tillberg, Salina, Eldon (Mary) Tillberg, Smolan, Vernon Tillberg, Mesa, AZ, Leland (Rhonda) Tillberg, Newton, and Gordon (Gloria) Tillberg, Salina; two daughters, Elda Jean (Howard) Richards, Dighton and Vivian (Darrell) McCulley, Monroe, TN; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Maxine Tillberg; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. 7th, with Rev. Kent Happel officiating. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church memorial fund or Lane County Hospital LTCU, both in care of the mortuary.

Gene Alan Base, 52, of Brookville, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. He was born July 12, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Luella Base.
He is survived by his daughter, Bailey Base, of Lawrence; and his son, Lucas Base, of Salina; two brothers, Dennis Base, of Salina, and Brian Base, of Lindsborg; one sister, Cindy (Base) Melton, of Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles.
He was a delivery driver for UPS for 19 years. He enjoyed a life of rodeoing and all the friends he met along the way. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Happy Corner Gymnasium on Halstead Road, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, Gene requested memorials be made to the Brookville Rounders Rodeo Club and the ALS Society.
