A New Cambria man tells Salina Police he sold a rifle on Christmas night and the check he received turned out be stolen.
33-year-old Daniel Price says he met a man at the Kwik Shop at 305 W. Schilling Road at 7:00pm December 25th and was paid $1,900 for a “Bushmaster” AR-15 rifle with a check.
Price had advertised on a Nex-Tech web site that the gun was for sale, and had made arrangements to meet at the convenience store.
Price told police Wednesday that he found out the check had been stolen from a person in Claflin.
Claflin Police have been working other cases involving stolen checks from the same account.
