National Study Indicates Salina Employers More Optimistic

Screen Shot 2013-02-07 at 7.59.59 AMA national study comparing the attitudes and perceptions of employers concludes that a greater number of employers in Salina are preparing for growth in comparison to their Midwest and national peers.

The 2012 North American Data Study findings are based on 16,801 executive interviews conducted in 35 states, three provinces and nearly 1685 communities. Interviews were conducted between 2008 and the 1st quarter of 2012 with the majority of the interviews completed in the last two years. 768 surveys were completed in Salina during the timeframe of the study.

Below are the key findings which compare Salina to Midwest and national employers.

Dennis Lauver, President & CEO of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, said “Salina employers also report higher levels of satisfaction than their peers across America with local K-12 Schools, public transportation, local streets and roads, highways, trucking, healthcare and fire and police protection.”

The study completed by Blane, Canada Ltd. of Chicago, provides valuable information in regards to the economy and how it impacts businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Prepared using the Synchronist business survey system, the study represents the largest primary research project ever undertaken by a group of independent economic developers working in collaboration. The findings allow users the opportunity to see how businesses in their community compare to those in other communities on key performance issues.
