Eagle Communications will begin construction and equipment upgrades to their infrastructure in several Central Kansas communities, beginning next week in Abilene. The $2.8 million investment will provide faster Internet speeds and additional video offerings including additional HD channels and Whole-Home DVR to the Central Kansas region.

“This is an exciting time for Eagle and for the communities we serve in Central Kansas,” Dennis Weese, Eagle’s Community Relations and Commercial Sales Director said. “Eagle continues to connect local communities with the best Internet available and robust television choices with this equipment upgrade.”

The upgrade will allow Abilene customers to have Internet speeds up to 50 Mbps and have Eagle’s Whole-Home DVR services in their homes within the next six to eight weeks. Additional communities in Eagle’s Central Kansas region will follow throughout 2013.

“Eagle is a technology leader and we are excited to bring these upgraded services to our customers in the Abilene area,” Travis Kohlrus, Eagle’s Broadband Division General Manager said. “These increased speeds and additional video products are services our customers have been asking for and now with this $2.8 million investment in the area communities, we can provide those services.”

Communities included in this upgrade project are Abilene, Bennington, Chapman, Clay Center, Enterprise, Florence, Hillsboro, Marion, Minneapolis, Solomon, and Wakefield. Customers will be notified as to when their community will be upgraded to receive these new services. Information on the upgrade and proposed construction completion can be found at www.eaglecom.net/underconstruction.
