Investigation Into Jail Escape Continues

Antonio Brown sr

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service continue to investigate Monday’s escape of 29-year-old Antonio Brown from the Saline County Jail.

Brown turned himself in to Marshal’s Wednesday night in Wichita.

On Friday, Undersheriff Dave Dunstan said there was no new information to release on how Brown was able to get to Wichita from Salina after getting out of a holding cell a little after 4:00pm Monday afternoon.

Brown had been brought back to Salina from the Mitchell County Jail in Beloit where he had been housed as an inmate most of the time after his arrest in October of 2011 in the murder of 14-month-old Clayden Urbanek.

Dunstan says that Brown is in segregation, in a cell by himself.

In addition to the 1st degree murder and child abuse conviction, Brown is facing charges of aggravated escape from custody, failure to appear and contempt of court.
