UPDATE: Woman Hit By Car Early Monday Morning

UPDATE: A 57-year-old woman was injured early Monday morning when she was hit by a car at the intersection of Broadway and Crawford.

Brenda Hartung was walking west at about 6:30am Monday when she was hit by a car driven by 37-year-old Joezf Siermimski of Salina who was northbound on Broadway in the inside lane and had a green light.

Although the accident report is not complete, Hartung suffered a head injury, broken lower right leg, possible fractured pelvis, and possible broken vertebrae. She was taken to Salina Regional Health Center by EMS.

The impact also cracked the grill, dented the hood and shattered the windshield of the 2001 Dodge Stratus.
Sierminski was cited for no proof of insurance. Hartung was cited for failure to use pedestrian crossing signs.

ORIGINAL: A woman was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of injuries after being hit by a car early Monday morning.

Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield says the report was still being worked on and details on what happened were not yet available.

The incident occurred around 6:30am Monday morning.
