A man in his 30s was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, after being found unresponsive, in what was supposed to be a vacant room at the Phoenix, in downtown Salina early Monday morning.
Just after 3:00am there was a report of smoke coming from room 105. A small fire was put out, and the man was found laying on the floor.
Police have identified the man but have yet to release his name. He is in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
The source for the fire is believed to be a hotplate, and the fire is also believed to have been accidental.
