A Saline County Jail inmate injured in a fight in a cell late Tuesday night.
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says, about 11:30pm corrections officers received a intercom call from a cell pod, and when they answered, there was no answer.
Officers went to the cell and found 21 year old Jeremy Gore of Salina laying on the floor in a pool of blood, and two other inmates awake in the cell that held about a dozen inmates.
Gore was taken to the hospital and had 12 staples put into the back of his head and then returned to the jail and housed in a different cell pod.
Gore said he was in a fight but doesn’t remember too much.
Sheriff Kochanowski said that one of the two inmates that were awake when Gore was found will be the suspect in the assault.
Gore was booked into the Saline County Jail Monday on charges including criminal use of a financial card, forgery, and theft by deception.
