Record Low Voter Turnout For General Election In Saline County

voteVoter turnout was a record low for city and school board general elections in Saline County Tuesday.

Just over 12 percent of registered voters cast ballots. Saline County Clerk Don Merriman believes that this is the lowest turnout ever in Saline County for a general election.

For Salina City Commission the top three vote getters were Jon Blanchard, incumbent commissioner Kaye Crawford, and Randy Hardy. Blanchard and Crawford will Have 4 year terms and Hardy a two year term.

For the Salina USD 305 school board the winners were incumbent member Mary Anne Trickle, Johnna Vosseller and Brett Cooper.

The new city commissioners will take office later in April, and school board members in July.
