A Salina teen referred to court on charges of vehicle burglary, attempted theft and possession of stolen property.

17 year old Devon Schmidt was taken into custody just before 11:00pm Saturday night near the intersection of Ohio and Republic, after being caught going through the car of a Salina man in the 1200-block of E. Republic.

Schmidt who did not take anything from the car after being confronted by the owner, left on a bike and was stopped a short time later by police.

In a backpack a GPS unit was recovered that had been taken out of a vehicle in the 900-block of E. Republic.
