In preparation for another hot summer, retreating indoors from triple digit heat in Salina is a welcome relief, but some of your neighbors don’t have that simple pleasure.
During the week of May 13 through May 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Salina Fire Department will be partnering with Angels Care Home Health for a Fan Drive. The goal is to provide comfort and reduce the health risks of people in most need and the only way to make it possible is through donations.
During this time you can drop off gentle used and new fans to any one of the four fire stations in town, the Salina Senior Center located at 245 N. Ninth Street, or directly to the Angels Care Home Health office located at1015 Elmhurst Blvd. Fans will be distributed to qualifying households with elderly or special needs family members. If you need a fan, you can contact Brandon Gary with Angels Care Home at (785) 826-9600.
On Friday May 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Fan Drive will conclude with a hot dogs and popcorn celebration (food cooked by the Athletic Leaders of Kansas Wesleyan University) at the Angels Care Home Health location located at 1015 Elmhurst Blvd. There will also be Fire Truck Tours. Angels Care Home Health will also be providing a FREE Blood Drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call Angels Care at 785-826-9600 to sign up.
