Argument Leads To Aggravated Assault Charges Against Ellsworth County Woman

Anne JohnsonA 20-year-old rural Ellsworth County Woman in the Saline County Jail on charges including aggravated assault, aggravated battery, endangering a child, and reckless driving.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said Anne Johnson and 47-year-old Brian Metzger had gotten into an argument at their home Sunday morning before going to church in Salina.

Johnson and Metzger took separate vehicles, and Johnson became angry when Metzger was driving too fast for her to keep up in the 1200 block of W. Armstrong Road.

They both stopped and Johnson allegedly ran the SUV into the pickup that Metzger was driving, and Johnson also backed up at a high rate of speed and left the road went through a barbed wire fence, striking a tree and breaking out windows in the SUV, before getting back onto the road and starting to drive away, when a Sheriffs deputy happened upon the scene.

A 4-year-old boy who was with Johnson was taken from the scene by family members. No estimate on the damage to either vehicle was available.
