Louis Goseland, Director of Organizing at Sunflower Action, Wichita, will be in Salina Saturday. July 20, at Martinelli’s back lunch room at 1:30 p.m. He will give a public presentation on ALEC—what it is, what it does, and who is involved–and lead a discussion on ways to counter it’s effects. The meeting will end at 3:00 pm.
People with concerns about the present direction of state government can get vital information about ‘model legislation’ that affects not just Kansas, but many states.
Goseland will present his research on ALEC (the American Legislative Exchange Council) and its ties to monied interests, to the detriment of the American public. He is the youngest member of Sunflower Action, and has wielded vital campaigns on several issues, including the campaign to preserve voting rights in Kansas before the 2012 election. He founded the West High chapter of Students United and is committed to the mission of grassroots community organizing.
This event is organized and sponsored by the Salina Area Worker’s Coalition. Further information available from Greg Stephens, at gregs3@cox.net or at 819-6887.
